Sebastiano Serlio lived between 1475 and 1554.

He was a pupil of Peruzzi, from whom he inherited material concerning architectural theory.

In 1545 Sebastiano published in Paris the second book of his Regole generali di architettura.

This volume contains detailed instructions with regard to the construction of a stage and an auditorium.

He is thinking in terms of a typical temporary Renaissance theater to be erected in a great banqueting hall or in a courtyard of Italian prince.

Serlio had built such a theater in Vincenza in the 1530’s.

We were required to:

Find places in Bydgoszcz which can be used as the three scenes to perform Comedy, Tragedy and Satire.

Take a picture, prepare 5 slides presentation including slide with a title, three slides with your own photos and description which will consist of a name of the given place, date when it was taken and Serlio’s scene. The last slide have to include a map of Bydgoszcz on which you are going to locate your scenes (use google maps and make a print screen or photo of Bydgoszcz's map from the Internet etc.).

The files should include your first and last name and class. They must be sent on the managebac historical files part after presentation.

Every photo used from the Internet, covering the three Serlio's scenes, is going to be interpreted as plagiarism with a note to the class register.

Each individual presentation should include photos from different places, so communication between classmates is required.
